Growth

This interactive artwork was created for the array of screens in the foyer of the EDGE performing arts center in downtown Auckland. As the viewer approaches the empty screens, small grasses sprout in response to their movements. With more exaggerated movement small shrubs and trees grow, inviting playful interaction. Eventually trees and vines choke the sky. When movement stops or people step away, the plants slowly die back until the space is left empty once again.
